Hard shell sit on top or Pakboat Quest 150

Post by SuperheroRobot »

Howdy, I'm a free diver. I need a kayak I can get in and out of while in the water. I've been mostly looking at hard shell sit on tops, but I like how the Quest 150 has a deck that can be removed and is longer than the sit on tops I've seen. I'm a very good swimmer and I think I can get in and out of a Quest 150.

It seems to me that if I get a Quest 150 I would get a kayak for free diving but also a kayak for just kayaking, a kayak that would be faster than a typical hard shell sit on top because it's longer and slimmer, and dryer because it has a deck.

Does my assumption sound right?

I think your assumptions are good. Both should have good stability, the hard shell sit on top by it's design and the Pakboat because of the large duel sponsons on each side. I would add one more thing in that the Pakboat would be much lighter than the typical hard shell sit on top.
