Ferrules for diy paddle makers

Post by HeavyWeather »

After making a greenland paddle, I found myself wishing it was a take apart.

I didn't really want to spend $57 at CLC for a carbon fiber ferrule. Stainless is cheaper but heavy.

Found a good deal on carbon fiber ferrules at Duckworks. $29, now we're talkin!

Hope this is useful to somebody else.

If you contact Gearlabs you can also get the metal push button replaced with a carbon fiber push button too.

Thank you Christopher, that is too cool! I had no idea.

Here is a link to the carbon fiber push button: http://store.gearlab.com.tw/store_2_4.html

Price is $9 (USD).

I have a couple of their Greenland paddles that both use the Carbon push buttons, the quality is excellent. Gearlabs is run by a great group of young engineers who are into serious outdoor fun, they have built numerous carbon bikes as weel as now being into carbon paddles.
