Folbot Left Outside

Post by JohnSand »

Late notice, since I plan to see this boat tomorrow, sorry. I'm going to look at a boat that apparently has been outside for three years. I don't know if it's been covered, or inverted. The pictures of it look pretty good. What should I look for? Would you consider such a boat? This is a later generation boat with plastic/aluminum skeleton.
Thanks.

I bought it. It's a Yukon Expedition, plastic frames anodized longerons. There are a few broken parts caused by uninformed assembly and disassembly. I'll start a new thread for repair. The only apparent damage from outside storage is that the spray skirt is fairly shot, and the hull is weathered enough to rub off black onto anything it touches.

I considered it fair, in light of the damage.

Got 303?

I think that hull is going to soak it up.

I ordered it online. A gallon for little more than the spray bottle.

Took this boat out for a paddle today, It suits me much better than my Aleut. The deck needs treatment too, but the seat upgrade is definitely a plus.
