Hi everybody,

I've been paddling folders for about 15 years. Pakboat canoes and kayaks, and Folbots. Paddled on the US west coast, BC, and Alaska.

Thoroughly bummed that Folbot went under after a century.

Currently considering getting a Pakboat XT17 for trips to Naknek Lake and Wood-Tikchit SP next summer. Due to airline luggage restrictions to Dillingham and King Salmon, I need a boat that will fit into one duffle.

Welcome pdn, sounds like you have an interesting trip planned and some considerable experience you bring to it. Would love to hear more about the itinerary, especially total length of trip and any portages, and how many in your party.
I have not been to that part of Alaska but I have paddled and camped in that beautiful state. Also, there is a member of the forum who lives and paddles in Alaska (and around the globe).
So welcome!

Ahh the beauty of the Wood-Tikchik trip is that there are ZERO portages. Starting in Lake Kulik you can paddle 5 rather large (~20 miles long each) lakes in an unbroken chain, connected by short Class I creeks/rivers.

See "Wood River Lakes Water Trail"
