Hi,
I'm a long time canoe and kayak enthusiast. My most recent boat project was a cedar strip canoe, but now I'm looking to make something that is lighter and more compact. I came across this site while beginning my research for this new project and thought it would be a good place to start.

HI Wanderingloon, welcome to the fold (pun intended).

I also did a dance with a cedar strip canoe some decades ago, a 1911 chestnut I got from my father and never quite managed to restore. Wonderful beasts if you have the patience and shop space. I'm not thoroughly appreciating my folbots these days as I can spend most of my time just paddling them.

Hello Loon, I have a lapstrake canoe and a folder. The lapstrake is lighter, but the folder is carried in two bags.
