Hello from Texas

Post by EncoreJoe »

Hello everyone.

I am a new member interesting in learning about kayaking in general and folding kayaks in particular.

My wife is recently retired and I hope to join her soon. Folding kayaks seem to make sense for recreational vehicle travel and I just like the idea of them. We already have folding Brompton bicycles so perhaps I have a habit going here.

My paddling experience has been limited to canoes with no real training and not much canoing. My wife and I just took a brief kayak class and had a several mile tour down the Guadalupe river in Texas.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning.

Best wishes and thanks.

Joe

Welcome aboard!
Folders make great travel boats. Kayaking on flat water doesn't require much training, I think I read one article. Good luck with your search.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the inyakkity! Learn the basics, including the safety information and you're off. These things will take to a too often world you can only look at from a distance...or better yet...far away from the maddening crowd!
"Yakadoodle" ...I had to come up with some name since Steve already stole my name!
