Greetings from Sweden

Post by Ralf »

Hi guys
I am quite new to the noble art of kayaking and still in the ”evaluation phase”. My first Kayak was a Point 65. It’s ok but I have long dreamed of a folding Kayak. I also tried an AE Expediton Elite (Air Kayak). Also ok, but with a few issues. Some weeks ago I found an old Klepper T9 with a reasonably good frame but a skin beyond repair. So now I’m looking for a replacement skin for my T9 restoration project.

I live in Norrtälje, a community some 60 km north of Stockholm Sweden

Welcome!
Take a look at this German website:
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... teln.de%2F

and this one from Klepper UK. They do have a listing for "Replacement Skins"
https://www.klepperuk.com/klepper_spares.html

Also from the UK, Wayland Kayaks:
https://www.waylandkayaks.co.uk/folding ... hulls.html

I think they will probably direct you to the shop in Poland where the skins are made or at least I think they are made there!
"Yakadoodle" ...I had to come up with some name since Steve already stole my name!

I have got some contacts in Germany about replacement skins. We will see where that leads. This weekend I will do a little road trip to Faltbootspiegel.de in Ivenack Germany. Three reasons: 1. For the fun of it. 2. To have Herr Bert Spiegel look at my T9 frame and give som experienced advice re the skin 3. To look at a brand new Wayland Harpoon XL Expedition..
