Hi there,

I am new to the forum and new to building folders. I am attempting a Yost Tour 15.

I am trying to source the PVC in Canada (preferably Vancouver). I am having a hard time doing so (the description "coverlight" doesn't bring up any google hits). I am noticing some banner companies offering something that might work, but I don't know about stretchability or stiffness.

Probably it would help if I knew what applications this PVC is used in (tarps? trucks?), or the specific brand name, and then I would be able to find vendors. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Darren

Darren there's a place just down the street from me, near Clark and Hastings, American Fabricators (AmFab). http://www.amfab.ca/amfab/

They specialize in tarp material (big tarps, truck tarps), many choices of fabric there. They've supplied the PVC for my sonnet project and a friends Sea Cruiser. Lots of different colours too. You can also get the PVC glue there.

I ordered my fabric from Outdoor Fabrics Canada called Sampson 18.5oz which looks like it will do the job
http://www.outdoorfabricscanada.com/Sam ... c_149.html

Its a fairly dense polyester cloth impregnated with PVC smooth on one side and with a slight texture on the other side, HH-66 glue works really well on either side.

I choose a lighter fabric Atlas 10oz for the deck http://www.outdoorfabricscanada.com/Atl ... c_145.html but decided I didn't like it, the weave in the cloth was too open for my taste so I've ordered some more Sampson 18.5oz for the deck.
I'll use the lighter fabric for flotation bags, spray skirts etc.
