I'm having trouble finding MEK for cleaning/treating the PVC prior to gluing with HH-66 here in Canada. Are there any alternatives, the local hardware store has PVC primer for cleaning PVC pipe prior to gluing would this work?

I have read that toluene and acetone work. I am using acetone which seems fine. To be on the safe side I used a small wire brush to scuff the surface after using the acetone.

Thanks I'll give that a try, acetone is easy to find, might give the PVC pipe primer a try and see what happens on a test piece.
