Yes, it's happening again! In 2018 we held the flot in the Everglades City area because of hurricane damage to Flamingo. We had a wonderful time, but it wasn't Flamingo. I'm pleased to say that dear old Flamingo is up and running again, and awaiting our return. So we'll be back to our old stomping grounds in 2019, at the end of the road in Everglades National Park. Flamingo! Yeah!
It's a DIY sort of a Flotilla -- come on down, do groupy things if you want to, or head off on your own, whatever. There is a meeting each morning for those who want to see what everyone else is up to, and a pancake breakfast (weather permitting) on the first Sunday, but that's the only structure. Aside from that, read, fish, kayak, bird, hike, sail, bike, gab -- whatever floats your boat.
We stay at the Flamingo Campground, which is run this year by a concessionaire. I'm told there is a 10% discount for people over 62, but that National Park Senior passes won't be honored.

If you're at all interested, let me know by private message on this forum, and I'll put you on the back-channel mailing list I'm also trying to get a fairly accurate headcount to ensure pancakes for all, so please let me know if you're planning to attend.
