I have the rudder in the photo below and have misplaced the bolt. Any recommendations on the best place to source a replacement from?

The rudder is second-hand, so it may or may not be an official Folbot model. My G2 is from the mid-90's.

I've used a wooden stick on the last trip and need a more reliable solution :)

Thanks!

I'm sure you can find a replacement if you take it to Lowes or similar store and show them what you need.

It does look like a Folbot rudder, Folbot style of casting. I have rudders of this size, and larger that are Folbot. Any good hardware store will have stainless steel bolts of an appropriate size.

I think the Folbot knobs are threaded 1/4-20. You want a carriage bolt that's not threaded the full length, just in the last inch. That avoids the problem of the threads wearing on the soft casting.

That's not a GII rudder.
It looks like it's from a Super.
If it actually works with your GII then somebody has modified the GII with a gudgeon from a Super.
Can you post a picture of the gudgeon as well?

I also lost the bolt from my old-style G2 rudder and had to find a replacement. Thought I'd report the specs on this bolt here for anyone else looking for this information.

It is a 1/4-20 head head cap screw, 6" long. This is a standard item available in hardware stores like Ace or True Value. Good on Folbot for using an easily available part, even if the design seems prone for these bolts to work themselves loose.
