Ian, when I took my old hull apart at the seams it resulted in an amazing set of complete pattern pieces. I wouldn't measure but trace them out onto paper or cloth or what the heck, PVC. Wish I had done that before I threw my elephant skinned pieces out. It would have made playing with a homemade hull a LOT easier. I did keep some good looking rubber for patches.

Just resurrecting this thread because I now own a Klepper Blauwhal which is in great condition apart from the deck doesn't bead too well. I already use Fjallraven's Greenland wax on my bags ( so wondered if this has worked for anyone?

You might want to try the flexible marine paint and sealant that Inland Marine in Cape Coral, Florida, sells for renovating inflatable boats and rafts. It is compatible with all fabrics and waterproof coatings though you might have to use solvent of some kind to clean off any kind of wax coating. You could get a pint and try it out. ... 7008-9.htm
