Your rudder pedals clamp to the keelboard in front of second rib, with the heelpad/footrest folding down just in front of the mast hole when you are sailing. That is the farthest forward position you can achieve with the stock pedals. That makes the heelpad span over the second rib. When not using the mast you can move the pedals farther aft and you can even clamp the pedals aft of the second rib if you need a very short reach for your legs.
