Narak to Procida

Post by siravingmon »

Almost flat calm conditions and no wind yesterday so we paddled to the fishing port of Corricella on the island of Procida, setting off from the port of Pozzuoli in Naples. It's only a short (16 nautical mile) round trip but you need good conditions to be able to quickly get across the shipping channel just off Procida and to be able to see the hydrofoils in particular as far off as possible. We were lucky as we didn't have to wait long at the buoy that marks the shipping lane but from April the sea traffic just about doubles. The restaurant to the right of the boat ramp as you arrive does great pasta and we had slight tail wind all the way back :-)
