Solway Dory Bermuda sail rig

Post by DLee »

This appears to be a very nice (35 sq. ft.?) sail rig that can be easily rigged and reefs to a very small area. Unfortunately they don't ship the rig outside the EU.

I believe they will ship the sail though. Apparently problems with repeated mast damage in transit curtailed shipping over here.

Not sure what the mast height is, it's probably on the site somewhere, but a self made mast shouldn't be too difficult to sort out... it's even possible that a Klepper mast could be made to work. The BSD mast would be a fantastic option, but getting all four sections to lock together for reefing would be a challenge (while keeping the mast smooth), forgive me, I digress... here's the link:

If it helps, on the 35 sq ft sail the mast is 1.5 inches diameter, and on the 44 sq ft sail the mast is 2 inches diameter.
