New 1997 K-1 Expedition

Post by thart2009 »

Just received and assembled my new (to me) 1997 Feathercraft K1. My first folder. What a remarkable piece of engineering! Pretty easy to follow the instructions and set up. Intuitive almost. Tomorrow I'll get it registered (as required in Ohio) and give it a test paddle on Lake Eire. Prior owner bought it new in Madison and used it sparingly. For most of it's life it remained assembled and in his garage. Critical pieces like the fiberglass combing and white HDPE cross ribs look great. Can't wait to get it out.

Thart, congrats, that is a really fine folder that should give you many years...decades...of pleasure. You probably know this already but highly recommend some fabric and hull protectant and of course make sure the tubes are protected with Boeshield. Good luck!
