Willow Flowage - Northern Wisconsin USA

Post by brucekissinger »

Just got back from a 3 day camping trip with my new (to me) Folbot Greenland kayak. The Willow Flowage is a 1600 acre lake with numerous islands and bays. The nights were cold (32 degrees Farenheit, 0 degrees Celsius) but the days were warmer and their were no mosquitos. I saw several bald eagles, Canadian geese, Loons, and an osprey feeding its young in a nest. I highly recommend the area to anyone in the upper midwest.

I was pleased that the kayak handled well in the wind without a rudder and was able to effortlessly swallow my gear. I setup a base camp on an island and used the kayak to explore. This was my first kayak camping trip and I am hooked.
